Forwards and Wingers

Christopher Nkunku - 7.5: Nkunku showed flashes of why he was signed by Chelsea. A great aggressive heading finish starting the scoring for the blues. He also was brilliant leading up to Neto’s goal, holding up play and delivering a perfect ball onto Neto’s left foot for the finish. There may be something there on that left hand side for him.

Cole Palmer 6.5: Eh. Was active that’s for sure. Just seems a bit off as he (and everyone else) has in the last month. He needed this game to build his confidence. If you look at the scorebook, you'll question how Palmer didn't find the back of the net with stats like 3/4 shooting%, 1.07xG, with 9 touches in his opponents box. The glaring 2 big chances missed will overshadow all of that. Overall, seems like he's just off his game a bit.

Jadon Sancho - 6.5: Solid. Was more aggressive than he has been in recent games. Featured a few times in the buildup play nicely, mainly on the chance Neto fumbled. He also worked hard on defense covering out wide (3 recoveries) for Gusto contributing in more ways than the score sheet, something that has become a premium in years past from him. He also created two chances and had 5 touches in the opponent's box.

Pedro Neto - 8: Brilliant temporary fix as the no.9 in the buildup. Was aggressive in 1v1 situations and had a beautiful cross on Colwill’s free kick goal. Was the best player on the field barring his miss. Had a goal paired with an assist and stretched the back line of Southampton effectively. Was going to give him MOTM until Cucurella's goal.
