This is a tough time for Chelsea. The club have consistently struggled for form over the past few months. It was partly responsible for Enzo Maresca's departure on the very first day of 2026, although the general concensus is that the falling out with the ownership had a lot more to do with the exit than the results on the pitch.

Of course, every time a manager leaves, it is the beginning of a new era for a club. Liam Rosenior will be heading this one, having been appointed from sister club Strasbourg in the middle of the season in a controversial move from BlueCo that has left neither set of fans happy.

There has been no real movement in terms of the club wanting to make some signings this winter. Let's see if that changes now that Rosenior is in place as the new manager, although he is not expected to have much say on transfer business anyway, with the sporting directors directing things in that department.

While signing the right players is vital, it is equally important to keep hold of the talents already at the club. And one of them has put pen to paper on a contract.

Chelsea announce they've agreed deal with English winger

Chelsea have announced on their official website that Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Kavuma-McQueen has been an absolute standout for Chelsea at the youth levels. He has arguably been even better for England. For the U17s national team, he has scored 5 goals in 4 games, 9 in 13 for the u16s and 9 in 6 for the U15s.

So, the potential is there for all to see. Now, it is about whether the 17-year-old will be able to successfully make the jump to the senior ranks. Chances are not going to be aplenty, so, when they come, he needs to make sure that he takes them up.
