Chelsea have already signed one striker this summer in the form of Liam Delap. The Englishman scored 12 Premier League goals for Ipswich Town last season and had a fantastic record at the youth level while working with Enzo Maresca. So, the signs are positive for the Blues and he might be their first-choice number 9 next season.

Yet, Chelsea continue to be linked with other strikers. With Nicolas Jackson failing to meet expectations, there are question marks around his future.

Hugo Ekitike is someone Chelsea have been heavily linked with in recent days. There have been suggestions though that the Blues are not keen to meet the transfer fee that Eintracht Frankfurt are looking for to part ways with the Frenchman. That might lead them to turn their attention elsewhere.

As reported by The Mirror, Chelsea are still pursuing another striker and that could lead them to gazump Arsenal for Benjamin Sesko. The RB Leipzig striker is believed to be available for £60 million this summer. Mikel Arteta's side have held discussions with the German club and the Slovenian striker’s representatives, but nothing has been agreed.

Sesko is a phenomenal talent, there is no doubt about that. But Chelsea, and other Premier League clubs, need to be wary about signing players from the Bundesliga.

It looks like many have struggled to make the transition from the German top division to the Premier League. Just look at Christopher Nkunku. He was a superstar at RB Leipzig but has struggled at Chelsea. Before him, there were Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

Sesko has shown a ton of potential. But will he work out in the Premier League? That is something Chelsea need to be certain about before making a bid of that magnitude.
