It looks like Chelsea are one step away from signing the wonderkid, who was also wanted by Nottingham Forest.

Over the past few years, Chelsea have been very active when it comes to signing the best young talents from around the globe. And now, it looks like they have won a race with the likes of Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Watford to have the chance to sign another one of them. Of course, it is not done and dusted yet.

This is not a player who will go straight into the first-team even if signed though. Instead, he is likely to go into Cobham and hopefully, rise through those ranks to finally make it to the senior level.

As reported by AfricaFoot, Amara Keita officially joined Chelsea last Thursday for a trial period. He will spend more than two weeks there, and if successful, he could take a major step forward by joining the London club.

He has already begun training with Chelsea U15 side. We will know how it goes over the next couple of weeks. If he excels, there is little doubt that the club will sign him.

Keita managed to impress during the World Schools Cup. It is believed that a number of European clubs contacted his representatives, trying to bring him in on trial. But eventually, it was Chelsea who came out victorious in the race.

This just goes on to show how thoroughly Chelsea are scouting talent. They have a network that spreads all over the globe.

Admittedly, the Blues have faced a ton of criticism when it comes to their transfer strategy in recent years but we are already starting to see the benefits of their long-term vision. And one cannot forget that there are still elite talents like Geovany Quenda, Mike Penders, Dastan Satpaev and more, waiting in the wings to get into the first-team picture.
