Recently, we saw Real Madrid swoop in for Dean Huijsen ahead of Chelsea, with the Spaniard now set to end up at Santiago Bernabeu if everything goes according to plan. That must have come as a major blow to the Blues' summer plans. On the other hand, it looks like they have one of Los Blancos' biggest names on their radar.
With Kylian Mbappe arriving last summer, Rodrygo was the one expected to suffer. That is exactly what has happened.
Despite playing an important role in two Champions League triumphs, Rodrygo's role in the team has diminished this season. He was even left on the bench as an unused substitute in the recent El Clasico against FC Barcelona.
Thus, it might be time for Rodrygo to reassess his future. And if reports in the Spanish media are anything to go by then he is doing exactly that right now.
Chelsea make contact to sign Real Madrid player this summer
As reported by Fichajes, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Arsenal have made their moves and have already met with Rodrygo's entourage with the intention of signing him this summer. The Brazilian international wants to leave Real Madrid as soon as possible.
Rodrygo's time at Real Madrid has been an interesting one. There have been spells when he has looked like one of the best players in the world. The issue is, he has never been able to keep up that form for an entire season, or even half campaign.
Perhaps Rodrygo is the type of player who needs to feel important in order to showcase his best football. It is pretty clear, though, that he will never be the main man at Real Madrid, ahead of players like Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham.
Also, one could argue that he does not play in his best position for Real Madrid. He seems a lot more effective when playing on the left flank but with Mbappe and Vinicius at the club, that is never going to be his primary role. So, it might be time for a change in scenery.
