France have produced some of the best talents in world football in recent years. So, it is unsurprising that Chelsea, a club known to invest in potential, have been linked with and signed quite a few of them. They have had mixed results so far. Malo Gusto has been solid. But the likes of Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi, have not met expectations yet, and probably will never do so.
That is not going to deter Chelsea if they come across an exciting talent though. And it looks like a French midfielder is on their radar right now, but he is wanted by other top clubs as well.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Chelsea are interested in Ayyoub Bouaddi. But the French midfielder is wanted by almost every European giant. The Blues could knock on Lille’s door in January with a €45–50 million bid.
The Frenchman might only be 18 years of age but he is already a regular starter in the middle of the park for a Ligue 1 giant like Lille. The club have a history of producing top players. Could Bouaddi be next on that list?

Chelsea have a strong midfield at this point in time. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are already part of the senior setup in the dressing room. And Andrey Santos is playing his part as well.
The issue is with Romeo Lavia. The Belgian is one of Chelsea's most talented players. Unfortunately, he is the most injury-prone one as well. Two and a half seasons since his arrival, we have never seen him remain injury-free for any consistent length of time.
While backing players through injury spells is important, at some point, the club needs to think about moving on. And we might be reaching that when it comes to Lavia.
