There aren't many Chelsea players who aren't up for sale this summer.
After appointing Xabi Alonso as their new manager, the Blues have begun a rebuild operation.
Several players have already agreed transfers, including Morgan Rogers following an agreement worth £117m with Aston Villa. Marco Palestra has also already arrived from Atalanta in a deal worth £47 million.
Of course, funding such significant investment has come at the expense of others. Multiple players have departed with even more set to make way.
Pedro Neto could be next Chelsea player to leave
In fact, there are really just two players who have been deemed untouchable: Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.
Consequently, the latest name to be linked with leaving Stamford Bridge is Pedro Neto.
The 26-year-old still has five years left on his contract, but after failing to establish himself as a leading Premier League winger since his £54 million move from Wolves two years ago, now faces an uncertain future in west London.
Speaking to Anfield Index earlier this month, journalist Dave Davies claimed Liverpool have included Neto as a potential alternative to RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande after coming up short in their pursuit of the 19-year-old.
The Reds are seeking a left-sided winger to replace Mo Salah after the Egyptian confirmed he was leaving Anfield at the end of last season. Those are some pretty big boots to fill, though.
Chelsea set eye-watering Neto price tag
Not only is it interesting to see Neto's name mentioned along Salah's at Liverpool, but it seems Chelsea, despite making him available for transfer, still value him very highly.
According to The Athletic, via their latest 'Transfer Deal Sheet' piece, the Blues will expect 'significantly more' for Neto than the £43 million they're asking for in exchange for wantaway Alejandro Garnacho.
After being absent from Alonso's first training session, Garnacho appears to have no future at Stamford Bridge. Several clubs have been linked, including Aston Villa, but the winger's preference is believed to be to join Roma.
Although Neto is unlikely to be cast aside by Alonso, the Portugal international will be given the green light to move on if Chelsea's valuation is met.
Many fans will raise their eyebrows at just how much the club are expecting, though. Despite The Athletic not giving an actual figure, the fact Chelsea want even more than they do for Garnacho suggests they're not really that serious about letting the 26-year-old leave.
