It is pretty clear that Chelsea have their problems at the moment. But there have been some bright points this season. The brightest of them might be the emergence of Estevao since his move from Palmeiras. Now, the Brazilian winger has always been considered a top talent. That being said, not many would have expected him to English and European football so easily.

He has already scored four times for Chelsea, despite playing a rotational role in Enzo Maresca's team so far. At the international level, he is making his presence felt as well. Estevao has already scored five goals for the Brazilian national team.

So, the future seems bright for Estevao. That being said, a lot of Chelsea fans won't like some of the plans that the club have for him, and will worry about the effect it could have on Cole Palmer.

As reported by The Chelsea Chronicle, Matt Law said recently:

"The view in the club is very much in the next two years he will move from being a right winger to a number 10. They’re not concerned about where that leaves them with Cole and how to fit it all in at all.

“They seem to have a plan that they’re not telling me about, but they really do properly inside the club believe this lad’s a number 10. They don’t for one minute think out on the right is his full-time position."

Now, what would that mean for the future of Palmer? He is clearly Chelsea's best player at the moment. The output he has showcased during his time at Stamford Bridge is remarkable. At the same time, he has proven himself as a big game player.

We understand that there is a lot of excitement surrounding Estevao and for good reason. But that does not mean that he will or can reach Palmer's level. We would hope that he does, but it is going to be difficult, for any player.

Also, when you have two tremendous talents, it is best to find a way to play them both as often as you can rather than having them compete for the same position. If you ask us, it would make no sense.

Real Madrid had Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema at the same time. It could have easily become about one or the other. But they found a way to adjust them both into the starting XI and the duo went on to win four Champions League titles.

At Chelsea, it often feels like there is this need to reinvent the wheel. But sometimes, one needs to stick to the tried-and-tested to get the best results.
