Chelsea fans have finally been handed some good news that they have been waiting for for quite some time now.

A lot of things have not worked out for Chelsea in the Clearlake-Boehly era. Plenty of them feel like stuff that other clubs are easily able to deal with but when it comes to the Blues, it somehow has been a problem. But finally, it looks like we might be close to finding a solution to one of those issues, if reports turn out to be accurate.

One of the areas where Chelsea have had a problem since the change in ownership is finding sponsors. You would have thought that this would be an area of expertise for the consortium, but it has turned out to be the opposite.

They started the 23/24 season without one before securing a deal with Infinite Athlete for just that campaign. Then, the shirt remained empty for pretty much the entirety of 24/25, until Damac came for the last couple of months. And as we head towards November, the Blues are without a sponsor on the front of their jersey once again.

This is unheard of, especially for a club of this level. One can understand the Blues not wanting to sign a long-term deal for what they believe to be fair value. That being said, over the past couple of years, one would imagine that they have already lost north of £50 million just because of this.

Fortunately, there is a positive update on the situation. As reported by The Athletic, Chelsea’s thorough process to find a front-of-shirt sponsor is nearing a conclusion. They are very advanced and a final decision is expected soon.

There have been some other developments in this regard as well. Chelsea have agreed a sleeve sponsorship deal with FPT, although it is only for the remainder of this season and not a long-term deal.

It is still a step in the right direction though. If Chelsea want to compete with the biggest teams in Europe moving forward, this is a situation that they will need to sort out as soon as possible.
