Just when things were going quiet on the Enzo Fernandez front, his agent has stirred the pot.
Javier Pastore, Fernandez's representative, remains adamant his star client is looking to leave Stamford Bridge, suggesting the Argentine has outgrown the Blues.
Enzo Fernandez's agent talks up Chelsea exit
Speaking recently to Diario AS, Pastore has confirmed he's working to find a "solution" that is in the players' best interest.
“[Chelsea are] a club that often buys a lot of young talent and gives them playing time in the Premier League, as happened with Enzo," he said.
"Everyone has their own process and path to follow. He’s done very well at Chelsea. He’s won titles in three and a half years. He’s very happy, but there comes a time when you have to follow the player’s path, and if he demands things the club can’t provide, you have to find solutions."
Fernandez is currently away with Argentina at the World Cup with the nation focusing on their upcoming Last 32 tie against Algeria, and ironically, Pastore doesn't want to distract from that.
“There’s so much at stake in the World Cup. Enzo needs to enjoy it [and] right now, I prefer that he’s focused on trying to win another World Cup. There will be time to talk later," the agent added.
“[…] Transfers in recent days, they’re all around 90 or 100 million euros. Player prices are very high, and his is certainly very high too, but […] he’s worth that much. Some clubs will be able to afford him, while others will find it a bit more difficult. We’ll be available and working to try and reach an agreement.”
Real Madrid mentioned again
Fernandez is rumoured to be target for Real Madrid, but Los Blancos must sell one of their current stars before they can enter into talks with Chelsea, and Pastore has confirmed the Spanish giants' interest.
Pastore continued: "Yes, Real Madrid has been linked with him. Real Madrid likes the best players, and Enzo has been one of the best this year. He’s a player Real Madrid likes, and he likes Real Madrid, as well as other clubs in the league. Now we just have to wait a little while.
[…] Of course […] he’s also happy in London, because a player performs best when he’s happy where he is, and Enzo has been happy in the English capital. […] Of course he likes Madrid, but he also likes London. Let’s not forget that."
