Players to Target

Cole Palmer

Cole Palmer capped off a great performance against Spurs with a Panenka penalty to wow fans around the world. Palmer has been a revelation this season, becoming only the second player to surpass the 100-point mark after Mohamed Salah and the second player to be named twice as the Player of the Week. Only Salah has more, with three Player of the Week awards.

Currently sitting on 125 points with over 61.4% ownership (at the time of writing), he is the second-most popular player in the league behind Salah (151 points, 61.6% ownership). Palmer has contributed eleven goals and seven assists in just 15 league games, further highlighting his importance to Chelsea’s attack despite an array of talented players at Maresca's disposal at Stamford Bridge.

With an xGI of 13.36, Palmer ranks just behind Haaland in expected goal involvement, making him a key asset in FPL. This week, he is projected to score 5.5 points and remains one of the top contenders for the captaincy armband.

Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson boasts 27.6% ownership in FPL this season (at the time of writing), accumulating 80 points—making him the 8th highest-scoring player overall. Among forwards, only Erling Haaland (98 points) and Chris Wood (88 points) have managed to outscore him so far this season. With eight goals and four assists to his name, Jackson has been a consistent contributor to Chelsea's attack.

Jackson blanked in the last game against Spurs and was visibly not happy with his own performance. However, he did not travel with the squad to Kazakhstan and is expected to be fresh and ready to exploit Brentford’s deficiencies in away matches in GW16. The Senegalese scored against the Bees last season, and many FPL managers will be hoping he can replicate that performance this time around at Stamford Bridge this game week.

Enzo Fernández

Enzo Fernández is in the form of his life, delivering attacking returns in five consecutive league games. Over the last five game weeks, the Chelsea vice-captain has contributed three goals and three assists, showcasing the talent that prompted the club to invest heavily in securing his services from Benfica in 2023.

His price has jumped from £4.8M to £5.0M in just a week, and his ownership has increased to 5.9%. Although he may not feature in all of Chelsea's upcoming juicy fixtures, at a price of £5.0M, Enzo is a steal. He takes corners and free kicks and frequently arrives in the box, making him an intriguing option in midfield.
