Even though the January transfer window is well underway, Chelsea have not made much headlines except for their change of managers. However, this does not mean that there are no areas in need of improvement in the present roster. They recently missed an excellent opportunity, having made an enquiry for Antoine Semenyo before he joined Manchester City, with the winger already thriving for the Citizens.

Chelsea made investments in the squad last summer, adding five new players to their front line. All of them have had varied performances so far. Joao Pedro and Estevao have had their moments, while Liam Delap, Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens have been mediocre at best. As a result, Chelsea may be looking for another attacking addition, which appears to be increasingly likely given recent rumours.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Chelsea are interested in Anis Hadj Moussa. They have made inquiries about him for this winter.

The report also goes on to state that a meeting has already taken place with Hadj Moussa's agent, Mohamed Dahmane, and Chelsea. Feyenoord are aware of the Blues' interest.

Hadj Moussa, a Lens academy graduate, has already played for five clubs in his career. He renewed his contract with Feyenoord last summer following a successful first season in Rotterdam, and his current deal runs until June 2030.

The 23-year-old's productivity has made him a significant asset to Feyenoord. The winger has already scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists this season.

Naturally, Feyenoord are believed to be reluctant to part with a key player in the middle of the season. However, the situation with the Algerian international is not the same.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Olympique Marseille had already held talks with Hadj Moussa prior to the winter break, with the player believed to be open to a move to the Stade Velodrome this month. A January transfer is possible if Chelsea make an offer that Feyenoord cannot refuse.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues will genuinely consider making an offer to try and sign the Algerian international. However, he does fit into the club's recruitment philosophy of focusing on elite young talent. However, everyone can now see where this plan has led the club this season and the previous ones. Will they still stick to their same strategy or finally try to adjust? Only time will tell.
