Chelsea are close to finalising another sale as their summer transfer business continues to take shape.
The Blues have already sold one player. Marc Cucurella made the switch to Real Madrid in a deal worth £47.5 million with the Spanish giants also considering making an offer for Enzo Fernandez.
Those two players aren't the only ones who have left, and could leave, Stamford Bridge this summer, though.
According to recent reports, West Brom are in advanced talks to sign forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan following his impressive loan spell with Peterborough last season.
West Brom close to signing Chelsea's Jimmy-Jay Morgan
Morgan had an excellent season with The Posh. The 20-year-old scored 12 League One goals and registered three assists in 34 matches, including 32 starts.
The young striker is now set to make the step up to the Championship with James Morrison's West Brom closing in on a deal.
According to BBC Sport, the Baggies are set to pay Chelsea a 'nominal fee' but the deal will include a significant sell-on clause, suggesting the Blues still have high hopes for their under-21 starlet.
Morgan came through Southampton's youth academy before making the switch to Chelsea in 2023 in a deal worth £3 million.
Since then, he's enjoyed back-to-back loan spells with Gillingham and Peterborough but is now set for a permanent move.
Chelsea cashing in before its too late
Although the Blues won't receive a significant fee for Morgan, the time has come for the club to move him on ahead of his contract expiring next year.
With no clear pathway to the first team, and even less so should Xabi Alonso, who will take charge from July 1, sign a new striker, it's understandable why Morgan wouldn't be interested in extending his stay in west London.
Consequently, keen to avoid losing him for free, Chelsea will offload the 20-year-old before the close of the summer window.
Now expected to play a leading role in West Brom's first team next season, Morgan is about to embark on the biggest challenge of his career.
Following the Baggies' 21st place finish last time out, there will be huge expectation on Morgan to help guide the team further up the table.
During his time with Chelsea's under-21's, Morgan, who has two caps for England's under-20's, scored 21 goals and provided four assists in 46 matches in all competitions.
