Attacking midfield seems to be one position Chelsea are intent on strengthening in the future. They missed out on Xavi Simons in the summer while Fermin Lopez seems keen to remain at Barcelona for the time being. Morgan Rogers has been linked with him for quite some time now and is believed to be their top target in that area. But the Blues will be keeping an eye out on other players as well.
Another player who has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past couple of seasons is Nico Paz. He left Real Madrid for Como FC and has been a revelation in Cesc Fabregas' team.
He was impressive enough last season, scoring 6 goals and providing 8 assists in 35 Serie A appearances. But he has taken his game to the next level with 3 goals and 3 assists in 5 league matches so far in this campaign.
As reported by TBR Football, Chelsea are very much paying close attention to Paz. Their recruitment department have highlighted the Argentine.
Chelsea interest in €80m Argentine international confirmed
It is believed that it would take a transfer fee in the region of €80 million to convince Como FC to part ways with Paz. But not when it comes to Real Madrid, who have a buyback clause, although that will depend on whether the Argentine wants to head back to Santiago Bernabeu.
Of course, Real Madrid are one of the toughest teams in the world to break into. So, it is very possible that Paz might think that his chances of getting first-team football are higher elsewhere.
One has to wonder what Chelsea's interest in signing a big-money number 10 means for Cole Palmer. Are the club looking to bring in a cover option or competition? Or do they want the Englishman to play a different role moving forward?
