Chelsea always have their sights on the best youngsters around the world of football. In recent times, we have seen them scout and then successfully recruit players like Estevao, Dastan Satpaev, Geovany Quenda and many others. But the latest wonderkid on their radar seems to be much closer to home.
The player in question has come through the ranks at Leicester City. At 16 years of age, he has already represented England at the U19 level.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Chelsea are monitoring Jeremy Monga of Leicester City. Real Madrid and Manchester City are interested as well.
Monga is still just 16 years old. He has already made 21 appearances for Leicester City, scoring and assisting once each. That includes five starts in the Championship this season. So, it is not hard to understand why three of European football's top teams are keeping a close eye on him.
Chelsea interested in English winger also wanted by Real Madrid
Obviously, Monga is not someone who can come in and immediately establish himself as a regular player for Chelsea. It is more likely that he would be kept at Leicester City or sent out on loan to Strasbourg. in the long run, he does have the potential to be one of England's top wingers though.
Chelsea have been trying to find a permanent solution on the left flank since Eden Hazard left the club in 2019 to join Real Madrid. So far, they have not been successful. Even this summer, they made two signings there.
Jamie Gittens has failed to establish himself as a regular starter for Chelsea since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund. On the other hand, Alejandro Garnacho has been doing better than him but even the former Manchester United player is not playing at a world-class level, which is what the Blues need.
