Chelsea appeared to be very keen to sign Fermin Lopez from Barcelona late in the summer transfer window and even made an offer to him. But that fell short of the La Liga champions' expectations and the player never appeared to be fully committed to the idea of leaving Camp Nou. So, it is easy to understand why a move did not end up materialising.
Of course, Chelsea are always on the lookout for the biggest talents in football. And despite the failure to sign Lopez, they are already being linked to another one of Barcelona's brightest talents.
In fact, they tried to sign him in the summer if reports coming out of Spain are accurate. But the player, just like Lopez, was keen on remaining at Barcelona.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Roma, Chelsea, Brighton, Everton, Valencia, Girona, and Betis all inquired about Marc Bernal's situation. The player was also offered a loan deal with the possibility of returning in the winter transfer window. But he declined the offer. As a La Masia player, his dream is to play for Barcelona.
