It looks like Chelsea have tabled a 'very exciting proposal' for the £80 million-rated player, whose future remains up in the air.

If there is one thing that has become clear at the start of this season, it is that Chelsea need to strengthen their squad further. The Blues have been nowhere near the mark so far in this campaign. A lot of that is down to the injury problems that key players like Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill are currently out with. But even then, with the depth available to Enzo Maresca, they should be doing a lot better than they are currently.

Chelsea signed two left wingers this summer. Alejandro Garnacho was brought in from Machester United while Jamie Gittens arrived from Borussia Dortmund.

Garnacho has had some decent displays but he has not really come in and nailed down his spot in the starting XI. Gittens struggled early on but is showing some glimpses of quality lately, putting in Man of the Match performances against Ajax and Wolves.

This has not stopped Chelsea from being constantly linked with Kenan Yildiz of Juventus though. And it looks like they are now moving forward with their interest in the Turkish international.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Chelsea have been holding discreet discussions with the player’s camp. They have also tabled what is described as a “very exciting proposal”.

Juventus are believed to be looking to agree an extension with Yildiz, even though he already has a contract that runs until 2029. He is viewed by many as the new face of the club.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea's interest in Yildiz ends up anywhere of note or not. It is very clear that he is a top talent. That being said, the Blues have signed plenty of such highly-rated talents in recent years without any real improvement in their results. Perhaps it is time to reconsider the transfer policy and sign some proven quality over future potential.
