Chelsea are a club always on the lookout for the next big stars in world football. Just this summer, Estevao has joined their ranks and was extremely impressive in his debut for the Blues in a pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen. Other than him, the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato have also been signed, while there are links with moves for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho as well.
Now, it looks like a former Real Madrid player is on the radar of Chelsea as well. But there will be competition to sign him.
The player we are talking about is none other than Nico Paz. He came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and played a bit for the senior team. But he was never able to quite make it in Carlo Ancelotti's side.
He would end up leaving for Como FC and has been a revelation in Serie A. Last season, he scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists for Cesc Fabregas' side and has caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in England.
Chelsea and Man Utd interested in €70m former Real Madrid player
As reported by CaughtOffside, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all showing a strong interest in Paz. Como have a €70m transfer valuation on the former Real Madrid player.
It is not hard to see why Como might be looking for that kind of figure for Paz. He is 20 years of age, has a past with Real Madrid and is proving himself in Serie A. He has also played senior-level football for the Argentina national team.
Someone like Paz would be a good signing for Chelsea and match their transfer policy. That being said, there is no chance that the Blues would sign both him and Simons in the same window. It is more than likely that it would be one or the other, if a move is indeed made at some point.
