Chelsea earned a valuable point over the weekend, recovering from a two-goal deficit against Newcastle United to maintain fourth place in the Premier League standings. However, there has been some new speculation regarding the club's transfer operations for the upcoming winter window, as a report has surfaced which the fans would love.

Chelsea have struggled at the back this season, aggravated by Levi Colwill's long-term injury, as well as Tosin Adarabioyo and Wesley Fofana's inconsistent form and fitness levels. However, a new solution has emerged for them to address their ongoing defensive concerns in the January transfer window, and that too without spending any money at all.

According to Sky Sport Deutschland, Aaron Anselmino could leave Borussia Dortmund again as early as this winter. This is due to a clause that the club and Chelsea agreed upon as part of the loan deal in the summer.

Anselmino has played in only 10 of Dortmund's 22 competitive matches this season, totalling 564 minutes. He was on the verge of reaching the required number of minutes with probable matches against SC Freiburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach, but a thigh injury kept him out of both games, leaving Chelsea with the option of recalling him.

Anselmino is highly regarded at Chelsea, and the club sees him as part of their long-term plans. He can play on either side of central defence, excels aerially and in one-on-one duels. Bringing him back could improve his choices for cup events while also boosting his confidence, providing a free solution to the Blues' defensive crisis.

The Argentine was supposed to return to Chelsea at the end of the season, but that might be moved up to January. The Blues are believed to be confident regarding his long-term future at Stamford Bridge. Now it remains to be seen whether they will bring him this winter, or will they again put their faith in the current squad, or will they go for a new defender? Only time will tell.

Earlier, it had been claimed that Borussia Dortmund would try to sign Anselmino on a permanent basis. Now, it looks like they might not even have him beyond January.
