Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has agreed a deal to join Torino in the January transfer window. Now, it is just a case of Chelsea agreeing a price for him.

It is widely documented that Chelsea have a big squad. While Enzo Maresca has maintained his best efforts since arriving in the summer to ensure that every player feels included, it is impossible to ensure every player has their needs met.

So, now that the January transfer window has opened, there will be a handful of players who want to leave Chelsea. Furthermore, there will be those players who Maresca will campaign to move out, to make room for his transfer plans both in January and in the summer.

Chelsea midfielder agrees deal to join Torino in January transfer window

According to a report from Gianluca di Marzio, Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has agreed a deal to join Torino in the January transfer window. Casadei has agreed to join them.

Torino, though, have only offered €12m, which is €8m shy of Chelsea's demands of €20m. Furthermore, it is said that Chelsea want to include a favourable buyback clause, so there are certain clauses and minute details for the two clubs to tweak before an agreement is met.

For Chelsea, this decision is pretty easy. While Casedei is clearly a talented individual, it presents a good opportunity for Chelsea to make some profit on their initial €15m investment.

Casedei has been a staplepiece for Enzo Maresca in the Conference League this season. Ignoring the red card, he has been impressive in the middle of the park for the Italian coach.

However, the case has not been the same where it matters most, the Premier League.

Aspiring to become a fully-fledged Italy international, Casedei could definitely benefit from returning to Italy. Of course, he did feature for Inter Milan's academy at one stage, before being signed by Chelsea for a reported fee of €15m.

So far, Casedei has been making great strides, both with the Italy youth setup and with Chelsea. However, as he seeks more game-time, it might be time to consider moving away from Stamford Bridge.

Without a doubt, the sensible thing for Chelsea to do is to include a buyback clause. It has been common practice for the Blues to do this in the past, which has given them an edge in the transfer market.

Therefore, expect Chelsea to hold firm on their conditions. Let's hope that some compromise is met between Chelsea and Torino, obviously preferably in Chelsea's favour.
