When Chelsea signed Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal, he was viewed as one of La Liga's rising goalkeepers. But since his move to Stamford Bridge, he has not exactly impressed. On the contrary, some glaring issues have emerged regarding his game. The 23-year-old does not look comfortable with aerial balls and the physicality of the English game.

In the past, we have seen Kepa Arrizabalaga face similar struggles. Incidentally, he is another rising goalkeeper who was signed from La Liga, and for a fee that is still a record.

Now, it looks like Chelsea might go the tried-and-tested route instead. And that could also lead to Jorgensen's move away from Stamford Bridge.

As reported by Sacha Tavolieri on Sky Sport, Chelsea are actively working to reorganise their goalkeeping department. The departure of Filip Jorgensen is being seriously examined. On the other hand, the Blues have reopened contact with Mike Maignan's representatives after learning that the French international goalkeeper does not intend to extend his contract with AC Milan,

Now, we have no issue with Chelsea parting ways with Jorgensen, who just does not seem cut out for English football. And Maignan is a proven goalkeeper, something that the fans have been asking for for years.

The issue is, Robert Sanchez has been phenomenal lately. You are almost scared to admit it, but he quite simply has not put a foot wrong since that red card against Manchester United.

Sanchez is a commanding presence in the box and an excellent shot-stopper. That has always been the case. But it does feel like he has cut the errors out of his game to a large extent this season. On the other hand, his distribution has improved a lot over his time at Chelsea.

The club have done so well to stick with Sanchez for so long, when he was being heavily criticised. Now that he finally looks like a top-level goalkeeper, would it be wise to bring in someone like Maignan to replace him?
