Chelsea have a lot of players on their books who do not seem to have a future at the club. So, the club will try to find new homes for them this summer. That would provide them with space in the squad to bring new players. And it looks like a long-time player is set to depart Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.

Chelsea had broken the record for a goalkeeper, which stil stands, when they signed Kepa Arrizabalaga in the summer of 2018 as the replacement for Thibaut Courtois. It would be safe to say that that has proven to be a bad investment from the club.

Kepa never really developed into a top goalkeeper. In fact, a lot of the time, he was not even good enough to be a starter for Chelsea.

The last two seasons have been about finding Kepa his next permanent home more than anything else. He has spent loan spells at Real Madrid and Bournemouth. And now, it looks like he is on the verge of joining Arsenal.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Kepa has agreed to become Arsenal's goalkeeper. The Premier League club are set to trigger £5m release clause in his contract at Chelsea, then the deal will be official.

Of course, it is not rare for Arsenal to sign players from Chelsea. Some names that come to mind immediately in that respect are Petr Cech, David Luiz, Willian, Jorginho and Kai Havertz. Not too long ago, they took Raheem Sterling on loan. And now, it looks like Kepa's name is set to be added to that list.

Unfortunately, it never worked out for Kepa at Chelsea, even though the effort was clearly there. At Arsenal, he is set to be the backup option for David Raya.
