State of Play for GW16
Chelsea delivered another stellar performance in Gameweek 16, securing a much-needed 2-1 victory against their West London rivals, Brentford. Goals from Marc Cucurella and Nicolas Jackson put the Blues 2-0 ahead before Bryan Mbeumo pulled one back for the visitors in stoppage time. This marked Chelsea’s first-ever league victory over Brentford at Stamford Bridge, a historic moment for the club.

Chelsea now lead the Premier League in goals scored, with 37 strikes to their name, narrowly edging out their London rivals Tottenham (36) and Brentford (32).

In Fantasy Premier League (FPL), however, no Chelsea players made it into the Team of the Week for GW16—the first time this has happened since Gameweek 11. Nicolas Jackson was Chelsea’s top performer with 9 points, followed by Noni Madueke with 6 points and Marc Cucurella with 5.

Overall, Chelsea remain the only team with two players in the top 10 for total FPL points this season: Cole Palmer (128 points) and Nicolas Jackson (89 points). This underscores the consistent contributions of Chelsea assets for FPL managers.

Chelsea's Opponent – Everton
Everton showed incredible resilience at the Emirates Stadium in Gameweek 16, holding Arsenal to a hard-fought draw. This result marked their fourth clean sheet in five games under Sean Dyche, showcasing their defensive solidity.

Currently sitting 17th in the league, Everton have struggled in attack, managing just 14 league goals this season—the second-lowest tally in the division, ahead of only Southampton (11). However, nine of those goals have come at Goodison Park, where they’ve conceded eight in return, making them slightly more formidable at home.

Adding to the intrigue, the recent takeover by the Friedkin Group could create a lively and energized atmosphere at Goodison Park this weekend, as fans hope for a turnaround in their fortunes
