Goalkeeper and Defense
Robert Sanchez (No. 1), GK, Spain
Maresca has stated that Sanchez is now the second-choice keeper, and that’s the keeper who plays in this competition. It is interesting, though, that Sanchez has performed better in the league up until this point. Sanchez has a chance to give the manager a selection headache, so this is a very important game for him.
Trevoh Chalobah (No. 14), CB, England
Chalobah's return from injury has been good news for everyone in the Chelsea community. The 25-year-old center-back returned from his loan in January after spending half a season under the tutelage of Oliver Glasner and performing so well that Crystal Palace was planning to make his deal permanent.
Tosin Adarabioyo (No. 4), CB, England
Tosin has had mixed performances, especially in recent weeks, but his passing has always been very good. Chelsea will need him for his long passing, and his height will be especially useful in both boxes during set pieces. He assisted in his last game for Chelsea, and his most recent goal came against Wolves in a 3-1 home win.
Benoit Badiashile (No. 5), CB, France
Badiashile's return from injury will bring joy to many fans. He has had too many injuries since the start of the 2023/24 season, and while it has affected his performances, many fans have not given him the benefit of the doubt.
He would be key for Chelsea tomorrow because of his crisp passing, aerial dominance, and reading of the game. The Blues need someone to control the game from the back, as that’s likely where Maresca's men will seek to gain control.
