Chelsea Football Club have big plans amid their own progress and advancement under latest manager Enzo Maresca. This time Blues recruitment chiefs supposedly plot a transfer move which will almost certainly please the CFC fan base. First of all, the west London hierarchy has apparently approved the preparation of a £58 million offer for a new goalkeeper. The Fulham Road jury is still said to be out on the capabilities of current No.1 stopper Robert Sanchez. Will Chels now attempt to secure a different first-choice?
In addition to looking at that Blues matter, another potentially vital piece of information caught our eye on Friday afternoon. Chelsea's injury issues have not quite mounted up like they did last year. Though a notable, injury-plagued star player has once again been missing from action for the majority of this important season.
Clearly constant recurring problems are not Reece James's fault exactly. Yet the CFC captain is wanted and needed at Stamford Bridge, as he always is. To that end, the most recent fitness update on the England international is now available. So, when will James be ready for Maresca to select again?
Chelsea target Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel?
Rumours coming out of Germany's BILD outlet concern the reported intentions of Chels. With Sanchez improving yet not fully trusted, could another 'keeper join the Blues?
I am unconvinced that the west Londoners will dip into the notoriously awkward January transfer market for this reason. However, you would not be particularly shocked if CFC shelled out nearly £60m on another goalie such as Kobel.
News on Reece James
Sorry to incite déjà vu for one minute, but Chelsea have received a potential injury boost. Maresca talked about the skipper at his Friday press conference.
And, happily, we now have at least a training return date for the England international. Although many people would like to see more of Malo Gusto - James's presence is a significant bonus:
"Reece finally tomorrow will start with us for part of the session, so slowly, slowly, he will be back. That doesn’t mean he is going to be with us on Sunday or next Sunday.Enzo Maresca
Just tomorrow. The plan for him tomorrow is to be with the team for part of the session and from there to try to build the right condition for him and then finally he can be back with us."
