It is hard to come to any conclusions about how good Chelsea's summer transfer window was before giving the new players some time to settle in. There have been some very positive signs but some worrying one as well. Joao Pedro, for one, looks like a potential superstar and has hit the ground running. But then, someone like Jamie Gittens seems to be struggling to make his presence felt.

Gittens was brought in while Noni Madueke joined Arsenal. But while the latter is being hailed at the moment, the former simply does not look ready to be a starter for Chelsea, or anywhere close to that level for that matter.

One can only hope that it is a matter of him settling in. Interestingly, it looks like Chelsea had another winger in their sights this summer but failed to land his signature.

As reported by Calciomercato, Chelsea offered €70 million to try and sign Kenan Yildiz from Juventus. However, the Italian giants were not ready to part ways as he has quickly become their poster boy.

Yildiz had an excellent 24/25 season and he only seems to be taking the step to the next level. He scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 4 Club World Cup games. He has followed that up with a goal and 3 assists in the first 3 Serie games of Juventus' season.

So, it is not hard to see why Juventus might be reluctant to part ways with Yildiz. At 20 years of age, it is hard to predict what his potential is, but it certainly looks like he will be a world-class player if he continues on this trajectory.

As for Chelsea, they signed two wingers for the left flank. Other than Gittens, they also brought in Alejandro Garnacho, and the Argentine might be ready to be a starter, having already played a ton of football in England with Manchester United. For him, it is more about getting up to match speed.
