Another defeat at the hands of Arsenal, this time at Stamford Bridge, further underlined the gap that exists between Chelsea and the top teams in the Premier League right now. Before every season, there is noise about the young Blues squad taking the next step and becoming title contenders. Inevitably, a few months into the campaign, all such hopes evaporate and they find themselves in a race to even qualify for the Champions League.

Despite watching this side fail to perform consistently time and again, the ownership and sporting directors have overlooked the need for experience. It remains to be seen whether that will continue to be the case moving forward or if they will tweak their stubborn approach a bit for the betterment of the club.

While experience and leadership is clearly needed at Chelsea, that does not mean that the club should overlook the young talent they already have on their books. And there is some very positive news in that regard.

As reported by The Secret Scout, Chelsea have now completed an agreement with Ibrahim Rabbaj, with the Moroccan signing his first Professional Contract. The new contract is signed and sealed until 2028.

Rabbaj is one of the most highly-regarded talents at Cobham right now. Unofficial stats suggest that he has 50 goals and 60 assists in 42 games across various academy levels.

Those numbers might be hard to verify but it is not hard to understand why there is so much hype surrounding him. That being said, there are some doubts as well.

He is just 5' 5", so there are concerns that he might not be able to deal with the physicality of the Premier League. Also, with the number of young talents that Chelsea have got, it is very easily to get lost in the shuffle once you make the jump to the senior ranks.
