It has been suggested that Chelsea are ready to accept an offer for the player and a deal could be agreed very soon.

Chelsea managed to find new homes for a lot of their players in the summer transfer window and ended up in the positive when it comes to spending despite adding players like Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato. But there are some exits that the Blues were not able to engineer before the deadline.

In some instances, moves fell apart in the final step. That was the case when it came to Tyrique George. Everything had been agreed but for one reason or another, it did not end up materialising and he remained at Chelsea.

Since then, Enzo Maresca's handling of George has been interesting to say the very least. He has gotten consistent chances, perhaps even more than last season, despite of how close he was to leaving this summer.

In fact, Maresca has preferred to play him up front over Marc Guiu when Joao Pedro has been given a rare rest. Does that mean that George's position at the club has changed and he is now set to stay? Well, that does not seem to be the case at all.

As reported by Football Insider, Chelsea will give the green light to George leaving in January. The Blues have already decided they will listen to offers for the winger heading into the winter and there is the likelihood that a deal will be agreed in advance of the window.

That makes things even more interesting. While the likes of Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi have been completely left out of plans, Chelsea have continued to feature George. Perhaps that is a strategy to keep his transfer valuation up. Or maybe it is a recognition of the fact that he was simply unlucky that an exit did not happen this summer.

One thing is clear though, George does not have a long-term future at Stamford Bridge. But hopefully, he remains a positive contributor as long as he is with the club.
