Four seasons into the new Chelsea transfer model under BlueCo, it is safe to say that things are not working. The structure that has been put in place by the Clearlake-Boehly consortium needs a revamp. The fans were vocal with their chanting against Behdad Egbahli during the defeat at the hands of Fulham. It will be very interesting to see how he responds.

Will Egbahli take the criticism on board and try to make some necessary changes? Or will he prove to be a stubborn character, digging his heels in and continuing on the unsuccessful path that he has set Chelsea on since his arrival? This has been described as a 'passion project' for him. Let's hope he is passionate about winning.

Time shall tell. Some reports coming out of Spain are cause for excitement though, and if accurate, they could be a sign that the Chelsea ownership is open to making the required changes.

As reported by Fichajes, Chelsea have decided to shake up the upcoming summer transfer window with a €150 million bid. The London club's top priority is securing the transfer of Julian Alvarez.

Alvarez has been a consistent goalscorer for Atletico Madrid since joining them from Manchester City. He has scored 40 goals in 82 games for Diego Simeone's side. But in Spain, they will always be third on the pecking order. Is that where the Argentine World Cup winner wants to spend his prime years?

One could argue that being third in Spain is better than the inconsistent mess that Chelsea have been under the new ownership. That is a fair point.

Even after that, we do not believe that this Chelsea project has potential. If the owners and sporting directors can get their act together, there is still time to sort out this mess and get the club back to where they belong, amongst the best in Europe.

Signing Alvarez could help them achieve that. The Blues need a statement summer transfer window. Let's hope the owners agree.
