Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world when it comes to identifying young talents from around the world and signing them. Estevao and Kendry Paez arrived this summer. In the future, the likes of Geovany Quenda and Dastan Satpaev will join as well. And the Blues already have a decent bit of talent in their academy as well with players like Shim Mheuka and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.

Despite that, it looks like Chelsea have no intentions of stopping investing in youth. And it looks like an Argentine player is on their radar now.

As reported by River Noticias, for several weeks now, River Plate's board of directors have been seeking to renew Ian Subiabre's contract, accompanied by an extension, salary improvement and a higher exit clause. However, everything indicates that there is still no agreement between the parties. On the other hand, the clubs that are constantly monitoring him and have already sounded him out are Chelsea, Inter Milan and Barcelona.

So, it looks like Chelsea have already sounded out Subiabre's camp regarding the possibility of a move. His current deal at River Plate runs until the winter of 2026.

It is unclear what kind of a release clause there is in the Argentine winger's contract. But considering that Subiabre is just 18 years of age, one would not expect that it is too high of a figure.

So far, he has made 19 appearances for River Plate at the senior level. At the same time, he has represented Argentina at multiple youth international levels as well.

Argentina are home to some of the best players in the world, including most probably the greatest ever. So, it is not hard to see why Chelsea might be keen to sign the best talents from there before it takes significant transfer fees to do so.
