Since their change in ownership, Chelsea have heavily focused on signing the best youngsters around world football. It was just yesterday that we saw one of them finally arrive in London, with Estevao completing his long-awaited move. And it looks like the Blues have their eyes on a few others as well.

One of them is Xavi Simons, once part of the Barcelona youth academy, who currently plays for RB Leipzig. He is not the only La Masia-trained talent that the Blues have on their radar either.

Just last summer, Chelsea ended up signing Marc Guiu, who is on the verge of joining Sunderland on loan. This time around, it looks like they have their eyes set on another Barcelona talent, although the transfer fee will be significantly higher.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Chelsea are understood to be preparing a bid in the region of €60m for Fermin Lopez. The Barcelona hierarchy are “split” on the prospect of letting him go.

Chelsea have one of the best midfields in world football as well, with options like Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos and more. Simons will probably arrive soon as well.

So, all things considered, one has to question where someone like Fermin would fit in. Will his game-time at Chelsea be much higher than what he is getting at Barcelona? It is hard to imagine so, that is for sure.

Of course, Barcelona have one of the best teams in Europe as well. While Fermin has gotten his fair share of chances, he is not a starter for the club. As a result, if a substantial offer did come in for him, one would imagine that the Spanish giants would at least consider it. Let's see if Chelsea do indeed end up making a bid.
