Chelsea have allowed a lot of players to leave the club in the ongoing summer transfer window. That being said, it is very natural that there are some who the Blues won't be willing to part ways with, unless an unputdownable offer arrives on their table. And it looks like Manchester City might be eyeing one such player.

In the summer of 2023, the new Chelsea ownership arguably made their best decision to date by signing Cole Palmer from Manchester City. Back then, a lot of fans were not impressed, as they wanted more proven players to be brought in instead of another project addition.

Since then, Palmer has developed into one of the best players in world football and the face of Chelsea Football Club. But of course, that kind of success has brought eyeballs as well.

One club is the one that parted ways with him a couple of summers back, if reports coming out of Spain are accurate. As reported by Fichajes, Chelsea have said "no" to an offer of more than €170 million for Palmer, from Manchester City. The Blues would only be willing to negotiate if the figure reaches £250 million.

Many Chelsea fans would feel that even that £250m figure is not worth considering. At the end of the day, Palmer is one of the best in the world and a potential Ballon d'Or contender.

But it does not end there. He has managed to establish himself as a global brand as well. Cold Palmer is one of the biggest names in football. When was the last time Chelsea had someone like that? Probably Eden Hazard.

Of course, any such reports always need to be taken with a grain of salt. But if true, it is great to see that Chelsea are not entertaining the idea of Palmer leaving this summer.
