Since the change in ownership, Chelsea's transfer policy has changed drastically. They have gone from targeting some of the biggest names in the game to completely overlooking the need for experience and proven quality in favour of high-potential youngsters. It is a strategy that has divided the opinion of the fanbase, and they clearly have not been as successful as they were in the previous era.

One thing that has not change though is their handling of managers. Thomas Tuchel was sacked months into the new ownership's first season. A strained relationship with the owners was believed to be the primary reason. They tried to stick with Graham Potter but that became untenable soon enough. Frank Lampard was brough in as interim manager and did not do well enough to justify getting the job permanently.

Mauricio Pochettino had an average debut season but finished it on a great run of form. It had looked like the Blues were finally heading in the right direction but then he left in the summer that followed, and it was believed that he did not agree with the club's model and strategy.

All things considered, Enzo Maresca had a successful debut season. He won two trophies, the only ones of this new ownership, and finished in the top four. But just six months after the Club World Cup triumph, he has been shown the exit door, amid rumours of a falling out behind the scenes.

Perhaps it is inevitable for managers to disagree with Chelsea's model. You do well enough to win two trophies and get the club back into the Champions League, only to not be backed in the following summer, as the sporting directors continue to recruit youngsters as if there is no tomorrow.

Now, Chelsea find themselves back to square one. And it looks like they are set to hire someone from under their own BlueCo umbrella.

As reported by Rudy Galetti, the board is considering offering Liam Rosenior a contract of at least 2.5 years. A proposal is expected later tonight, and, if all goes to plan, he could make his debut on the bench against Fulham.

Rosenior has done a decent job at Strasbourg. But of course, there are question marks over his ability to deliver at a top club like Chelsea.

That is someone that this new ownership does not seem to care much about. They seem to be of the belief that any coach can fit in at Stamford Bridge, overlooking the intangibles that differentiate a good manager from a serial winner like Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, Sir Alex Ferguson and others.
