Trevoh Chalobah is the latest Chelsea player to be linked with a summer transfer away from the club.
The 26-year-old is currently away with England at the 2026 World Cup after a late injury to Newcastle's Tino Livramento saw the Chelsea defender receive a shock call up.
And while all his focus will be on helping the Three Lions prepare for their Last 32 knockout tie against DR Congo on Wednesday, his club future remains under a cloud of doubt.
Como interested in Trevoh Chalobah
Como — led by Cesc Fabregas — have expressed an interest in signing Chalobah this summer.
The defender came through the Cobham academy and experienced multiple loan spells before being introduced into the first team in 2021.
Since then, he has been a regular squad player but has always struggled to name down a starting spot, and it seems that is something that isn't going to change under Xabi Alonso.
And with just two years left on his contract, this summer might be the Blues' best chance of selling in a deal that, due to his homegrown status, would represent a significant profit on the books.
How much Chelsea want for Chalobah
Como have already launched an initial £21.5 million offer for the Englishman but Chelsea have so far held up for a higher sum.
And according to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are asking for closer to £35 million.
Como aren't the only club interested in the 26-year-old either. Romano has revealled Inter Milan are also in the mix with their interest genuine and a rival bid a possibility.
Cristian Chivu wants to add a new defender this summer, and, given Chelsea's openess to selling, has added Chalobah to his shortlist.
Either way, before any club can progress a deal, they must first meet the Blues' demands.
It remains to be seen how the player feels about the prospect of playing in Italy but having never experienced the Serie A, it would be reasonable to suggest he'd be up for the challenge.
Italy's top flight also focuses on defensive ability so for any player looking to elevate their game, the Serie A would surely be a good move.
Since becoming a Chelsea first team player, Chalobah, who earns £62,500 per week, has scored eight goals and registered three assists in 151 matches in all competitions.
