Chelsea's need for another striker is nothing unknown and perhaps it became even more apparent after Nicolas Jackson picked up another needless red card in their recent loss to Flamengo. Liam Delap has been signed but is he ready to lead the line for the Blues? One would imagine not. He will need some time to develop into that sort of player, if he ever gets there.

Most Chelsea fans would like to see someone proven like Victor Osimhen or Viktor Gyokeres be brought in. But it looks like the club are continuing to think outside of the box, just for the sake of it if nothing else.

They have made an unexpected move. As reported by L'Equipe (via Metro), Chelsea have ‘entered into negotiations’ with PSG to sign Randal Kolo Muani.

PSG spent a £76 million fee to sign Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt a couple of seasons back. But his time in France has been far from fruitful. In 54 appearances for the club, he has managed just 11 goals. So, it is not hard to see why they might be considering parting ways. Will Stamford Bridge be the French international's next destination?

Of course, Chelsea fans will raise their eyebrows at the idea of signing a player who flopped at PSG. That's not a good sign, considering how many chances a striker is expected to receive playing for the French giants.

That being said, Kolo Muani did do pretty well on loan at Juventus. In 20 appearances for the Italian club last season, he scored ten times and also had a couple of assists to his name.

So, if available for the right transfer fee, signing Kolo Muani could be a smart move on the part of Chelsea. But how much of a loss would PSG be willing to take on the £76m they shelled out to sign the Frenchman?
