Kobbie Mainoo – Midfielder
Chelsea are poised to take advantage of a conflict between Kobbie Mainoo and Manchester United as the two sides are failing to agree on a new contract. The Red Devils have been struggling this year and are making cuts all over the club to save money and signing Mainoo to a big money contract may be unrealistic for them.
The 19-year old central midfielder is reportedly looking for a raise from £20k a week to £180k which would make him the fourth highest paid player in the club, level with Enzo Fernandez. The youngster fits the club’s youth movement ethos but those wages may be way too high for them to seriously pursue it.
Mainoo is also valued at €58M according to FotMob so he would not be a cheap signing. There is also the question of why the Blues would spend that much money on him when they have Andrey Santos waiting in the wings and two super expensive players in Moises Caicedo and Fernandez in similar positions.
