Rafael Leao – Forward
Speaking of expensive footballers, Chelsea has been linked recently with AC Milan star Rafael Leao as he is reportedly looking for a move abroad. Both Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with the Portuguese star and his agent Jorge Mendes and Milan would love to start a bidding war between the two English giants.
Leao can play striker but is usually deployed as a left winger and he brings loads of goals and assists from the wing. In 251 appearances for Milan he has racked up 68 goals and 50 assists in all competitions is usually in double digits in both categories. This year he has 10 goals and 9 assists in 40 appearance with two months left to go in the season.
The Portuguese star would likely cost over £100 million so the Blues would have to be all in on him being the future of the club. They would hand over the number 10 shirt from Mykhailo Mudryk and likely move on from the Ukrainian to help fund the move as well. Leao is still only 25 so he is somewhat within the young player philosophy but would represent real ambition from the club.
