Chelsea are back in action on Sunday, when they turn their attention back to the Premier League following their Carabao Cup clash with Luton Town.
Xabi Alonso's men beat Fulham in their league opener, while Brighton made easy work of Aston Villa, scoring four times in the first half. The Seagulls, like Chelsea, have European ambitions this season, so this clash will be an interesting early indicator, even if both teams will still be a long way off the finished article.
Ahead of Sunday's clash at Stamford Bridge, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both teams.
Yankuba Minteh - Out
Hurzeler said just under a fortnight ago: "With Minteh, he will even miss, unfortunately, for a longer period. Don't ask me for how long, but it will be definitely for several weeks."
Stefanos Tzimas - Out
Tzimas is working his way back from a knee injury and is in rehab. He will be back between early and mid-October.
Georginio Rutter - Doubt
Rutter was a question mark for the midweek game after picking up an issue over the weekend. He should be available for the Chelsea game but will remain a doubt.
Matt O'Riley - Douibt
O'Riley has been dealing with illness and should return to contention.
Kauro Mitoma - Doubt
Mitoma is 'getting closer' according to Hurzeler, and could well be involved here.
Evan Ferguson - Out
Ferguson is in rehab as he works his way back from an ankle injury. Brighton are unlikely to see the forward on the pitch until late October or November.
Marco Palestra - Out
Alonso confirmed before the Luton clash that Palestra would be out, and in the same address, he said he hoped Moises Caicedo could return for the weekend, but he did not include Palestra in that, suggesting the full-back will remain absent. He said Chelsea 'need to check a bit more'.
Moises Caicedo - Doubt
Ahead of the Luton game, Alonso said: "'Not for tomorrow, both won’t make it [vs Luton]. Let’s see, hopefully Moi could make it for the weekend." Caicedo will be battling to return and will likely be assessed late.
Emmanuel Emegha - Out
The new Blues striker is out with a hamstring strain, and we don't yet know when he will be back in contention.
Jordan Henderson - Out
Henderson is recovering from the wrist injury he had back during the World Cup, an injury that required surgery. He is expected back in the next couple of weeks, but this one will come too early.
