With the winter transfer window fast approaching, transfer rumours have started to circulate around top clubs, and Chelsea are no exception. Several players have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the past few weeks. Due to injury concerns and lack of depth, they may look to bolster a few positions.

One of them is Manchester United's academy graduate Marcus Rashford. He was loaned out to Aston Villa in January, where the forward appeared to be on the rise, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists in 17 games.

It is believed that Aston Villa wanted to sign him permanently, but the Englishman was determined to join Barcelona. The Catalans eventually signed him on a season-long loan with the option to buy for €30m.

Rashford has quickly adapted to life in Spain and has turned into an essential part of Hansi Flick's team. The 28-year-old has already scored 6 goals and assisted 10 times for Barcelona across all competitions this season. However, it might not be straightforward for Barca to sign him permanently, even though they have an option to buy included in the deal.

Barcelona's financial limitations are the primary cause of their second thoughts. And this could open paths for other teams, as there are many of them waiting in the wings to swoop in.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Paris Saint-Germain have made Rashford one of their top targets and are ready to invest around €50 million if Barcelona opt not to activate the clause. Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest as well while Chelsea and Arsenal are also keeping tabs.

Rashford's versatility, which allows him to play in any of the front three positions, makes him an appealing option for any top club. Furthermore, he has demonstrated his ability in the Premier League, and could prove to be a valuable addition for Chelsea.
