Chelsea have been hit with numerous injuries to key players this season, and this has unfortunately affected their campaign so far. The constant tweaking has not helped either. It is always difficult to maintain momentum when, every other day, Enzo Maresca decides to go with a new setup, sometimes due to necessity and others by choice.

According to TEAMtalk, George is ready to leave Chelsea in January. He ideally wants a permanent exit away from Stamford Bridge, as he has been frustrated by his lack of minutes.

George has been one of the brightest youngsters to come through Chelsea’s youth academy in recent times. The English winger was promoted to the first-team in December last year.
The 19-year-old played a key role in the previous season when Chelsea were without an in-form winger. However, the situation has changed a lot since then, as the club brought in Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens in the summer to address that area. Moreover, Pedro Neto is also seen as higher up in the pecking order for the left flank, sometimes switching sides when Estevao plays on the right.
As a result, George has found it hard to get minutes on the pitch this campaign. And his eagerness to leave should not come as a surprise, considering he was on the verge of sealing an exit late in the summer window itself.
Chelsea fans would have certainly hoped for George to find success at Stamford Bridge, but it seems that chance is diminishing quickly with the winger pushing for an exit. That said, it will be interesting to see how things turn out when the transfer window reopens.
