Nicolas Jackson, who has been Chelsea's starting centre-forward for the last two years, is now facing an uncertain future, with a probable exit looming ahead of the 2025–26 season. He featured in 30 games in the Premier League last season, scoring 10 goals. Since then, the Blues have brought in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, and it appears that he has slid to third in the pecking order as a result.

Jackson is rumoured to have told Chelsea that he wants to leave this summer, and the Blues have given the green light to explore offers. Following that, he was left out of both pre-season friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, indicating that a move could be on the horizon.

The Senegal international has no shortage of interest, with several Premier League teams and clubs in Europe interested. But recent reports suggest that he has now set his preference regarding his next destination.

According to The Telegraph, Jackson favours a move to Newcastle United should he leave Chelsea this summer. But the chances of such a move materialising largely appear to be dependent on whether the Magpies agree to transfer Alexander Isak to Liverpool.

Now here things get complicated because, as per reports, the Newcastle United board has informed Isak that he won't be allowed to join Liverpool this summer, which he is not happy with. This is a saga that could drag on for a while, possibly until deadline day.

Jackson has ended up on Newcastle United's radar after a double transfer blow. First, they watched Hugo Ekitike join Liverpool. Then, they saw Benjamin Sesko head to Manchester United. And now, there are question marks surrounding Isak. It is not a great time to be Eddie Howe right now.

However, it is believed that Chelsea are in no rush and will only part ways with Jackson if the right offer arrives. They initially wanted a transfer fee around £80m but are likely to accept a lower figure, especially as the player is keen to leave.

Isak has been a world-class performer for Newcastle United since his arrival. As a result, the Sweden international would be difficult to replace. Is Jackson capable of doing that?

For the time being, all eyes are on Isak's situation with Newcastle United and Liverpool's next move. Until that’s resolved, Jackson’s future remains uncertain.
