With a little over a week left in the 2025 summer transfer window, it looks like Chelsea still have left themselves a lot of work to do. It looks unlikely that they will try to replace Levi Colwill, considering the lack of speculation about signing another centre-back. But deals for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho are still on standby.

They can only be completed if Chelsea are able to get some outgoings done first. Fortunately, it appears that they are making some progress in that respect.

Recently, they announced the departure of Renato Veiga to Villarreal. And it looks like two more Chelsea players could be out of the club, one temporarily and the other permanently, by Monday.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund are confident to get Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino deals done by Monday. It will be a transfer fee of €20m plus add-ons for Chukwuemeka, and a loan with no option to buy for Anselmino.

One can only wait and watch how this entire situation plays out. Nothing is for certain yet. But it looks like Borussia Dortmund are confident, while Chelsea have a need to get players off their books.

Chukwuemeka clearly does not have a future at Chelsea. Anselmino might, but at this moment, he does not seem ready to contribute to the first-team. So, letting both join Borussia Dortmund makes sense.

If or when these two moves happen, will it be enough to get deals for Simons and Garnacho, or at least one of them? Or do those moves depend on players in the forward areas leaving, like Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku? At least we won't have to wait long for the answer as there is not much time left in the summer transfer window.
