Over the past few years, Chelsea have heavily focused on signing talented youngsters from all around the world. Of course, having so many at the same time means that chances are hard to come by at Stamford Bridge. So quite a few of these players end up leaving on loan deals to find their feet elsewhere.

If done right, it can be brilliant for a youngster. Just look at Andrey Santos, who excelled on loan at Strasbourg and could be in the Chelsea first-team picture next season, competing with Romeo Lavia for a first-team spot.

There are some who also believe that Santos could be an improvement on someone like Enzo Fernandez in the long run. That is because he has the ability to score plenty of goals like the Argentine but is more solid on the defensive side of things.

Caleb Wiley will be hoping to make the same sort of impact on loan. He was also sent on loan to Strasbourg last summer but it did not work out. He was called back in the middle of the season and then joined Watford on a temporary basis, making 10 appearances for the Hornets.

The American international looks set to continue with the Hornets for another season as well. As reported by Luca Bendoni, Watford and Chelsea have agreed to a one-year loan deal for Wiley

Chelsea signed Wiley from Atlanta United for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £8.5 million. But it is hard to imagine that he will get too many chances at Stamford Bridge right now with Marc Cucurella in the form of his life and arguably playing like the best left-back in the Premier League.

So, going out on loan makes a ton of sense for Wiley. Let's hope he ends up enjoying a successful campaign at Watford.
