At this point in time, it is hard to see a way out for Chelsea when it comes to their injury problems. Of course, we have already talked about Cole Palmer's absence being prolonged and it now being confirmed that he will spend six more weeks out on the sidelines. That is not the only piece of bad news that the Blues have been handed though. It looks like they have fresh fitness issues as well, which could further reduce the options available to Enzo Maresca.

Unfortunately, it looks like three Chelsea starters could potentially miss this weekend's game against Nottingham Forest. And two of them are names you would not have seen coming.

It had already been confirmed that Enzo Fernandez had picked up a knee issue while away on international duty. So, his participation against Nottingham Forest this weekend was always in doubt. But now, it looks like there is uncertainty around the situations of Moises Caicedo and Pedro Neto as well.

They have missed training recently. As reported by Chelsea News, Maresca said about the trio:

"We have Moi [Caicedo], Enzo [Fernandez], Pedro [Neto], they didn’t take part in the session yesterday, and we’ll see if they can train today, otherwise they’re going to be out."

Caicedo got a rare break during this international period. So, it was expected that the Ecuadorian would get some time to recover from his niggling issues and be back fresh. But now, it looks like those problems might have been worse than first thought, although the extent is not clear.

On the other hand, Neto did play during this international break for Portugal. And it looks like he might have either picked up some issue during those appearances or is dealing with fatigue.

Anyway, it is not certain that they are out either. Let's see how this situation evolves. One can only hope that none of those three have any serious injuries, even if they do end up missing this weekend.
