Over the years, we have seen plenty of players move from Chelsea to Manchester United. Some recent examples that come to mind immediately are Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and Mason Mata. Of course, the results have been mixed. It has been far rarer for players to swap Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge.

Alejandro Garnacho did join Chelsea in the summer though. It took the Blues are a transfer fee in the region of £40 million to secure his signing.

Now, it is far too early to make any judgments on Garnacho. He did have a slow start to life at Chelsea, but in recent weeks, he has been making his presence felt with consistent goals and assists and has four goal contributions in his last four appearances across all competitions for the club.

If things had worked out a bit differently, we could have seen a Chelsea player head to Manchester United in the summer as well. But it looks like the Old Trafford outfit were not open to that idea.

As reported by ESPN, Manchester United turned down Chelsea's offer of including Romeo Lavia or Christopher Nkunku as part of the deal which saw Garnacho join the Blues in the summer. It is believed that the club had concerns over the Belgian's fitness record. The Frenchman, on the other hand, moved to AC Milan.

Of course, it is not hard to see why Manchester United had concerns regarding Lavia. In fsct, he is out injured at the moment, proving them right.

On the other hand, Nkunku might have moved to AC Milan but his start to life in Italy has been unexpectedly difficult. He is struggling to make his presence, which was not expected from someone with his record in Germany. Even at Chelsea, he did a decent job when given a chance.
