Chelsea fans will be hoping that Estevao breaks a lot of records for the club during his time at Stamford Bridge. And the Brazilian international has started on the right foot in that regard, already getting one on the board, as he helped the Blues to a commanding 5-1 win against West Ham United in his very first start in the Premier League.
Last weekend, we had seen flashes of his quality as he was brought on against Crystal Palace. He could have easily been the hero of that match if he had taken his chance in front of goal, but he could not keep his composure when a chance fell his way.
This week, Estevao affected the game. He was not in the starting XI initially, but when Cole Palmer picked up an issue during the warm-up, the Brazilian was brought into the lineup.
That would have been a big moment for the 18-year-old but he seemed to take it all in stride. And then, he made history when he assisted Enzo Fernandez for Chelsea's third goal of the game.
Estevao breaks all-time Chelsea record against West Ham
That was a record-breaking goal for the club. Estevao became the youngest player ever to register an assist for Chelsea in the Premier League.
Well, that is a pretty good record to have under your belt after just one start. And his overall play was pretty solid as well, as he did not look out of place against Premier League competition at all.
In fact, he would have been disappointed not to add a goal as well. Reece James played an incredible defence-splitting ball after coming on that sent Estevao through. But he just could not make the most of the opportunity.
Of course, tougher tests lie ahead. West Ham United are a team that is struggling badly at the moment. Chelsea fans know well how things can go under the management of Graham Potter. And it looks like we are seeing the same story unfold across London.
