Ex-Chelsea boss poaches Blues talent as Chilwell frustration boils over
Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is said to have poached an important member of the Blues staff. The new England boss will take over duties at the Nation's helm for their next run of fixtures. But the German wants his backroom team in place ahead of any upcoming matches, of course. Though some CFC supporters may raise an eyebrow at Tuchel's first port of call. Others will wonder if this raid on the west London club by a widely adored ex-manager is good for the team. Some Chels fans will negatively call out the latest Three Lions gaffer for his choice.
And last, but by no means least, we cover the annoyance, status and future of one-time Leicester City man and current Blues outcast Ben Chilwell. The left back, who is seemingly not in manager Enzo Maresca's good books at all, is at the centre of a new story on Fulham Road. His frustration at a severe lack of playing time, has boiled over for all intents and purposes. The England international is expected by many to leave soon; an exit may perhaps come in January. He's even willing to take a pay cut to get out of the Bridge. So which club is linked with Chilwell? And will he be going abroad or staying in England?
Ben Chilwell's chance for a Chelsea transfer
Chilwell is obviously unwanted by Maresca. A window of opportunity hasn't particularly materialised. I would say that he should have angled for a move in the summer. Though, now, he really must sign elsewhere!
Arranging a New Year or summer switch might be easier for Chilwell than other professionals. He will, however, have rather lofty ambitions and high standards. Returning somewhere like his former side Leicester is arguably the appropriate standard.
Though the 27-year-old, who does have something good to offer at this level on his day, likely has elevated hopes of his own. Luckily for him, then, that Italian giants Juventus are in the market if we trust a report.
Thomas Tuchel takes top talent
It's a bit cheeky of Tuchel, this, if you ask me. The Champions League winner has prised away an important man from CFC:
"Goalkeeping coach Hilario has resigned from his role at Chelsea and is set to be appointed to Thomas Tuchel's England staff.
Hilario has spent 16 years at Stamford Bridge as a player and coach, over two spells.
Tuchel worked with the former goalkeeper during his time in charge of Chelsea and begins his tenure as England manager on 1 January.
It is understood Hilario was open to a job share but Chelsea were unhappy with that arrangement."
