Attributes Beyond Scoring
Delap’s contributions extend beyond scoring goals. He is a reliable outlet during transitions, thanks to his speed, light footwork, and ability to drift wide when necessary. While his hold-up play and link-up ability still show signs of rawness, they are complemented by good vision and a selfless attitude when shifting the ball.
When it comes to ball progression, Delap is a reliable outlet. Although his overall play is not as tidy as Jackson's, it's still pretty good. As a capable dribbler and a rapid runner, he's useful on the transition as well.pic.twitter.com/r1wofpYG4m

For example, his assist for Sam Szmodics was a great demonstration of his ability to spot a pass and create opportunities for teammates. Although not yet at Jackson's level in terms of ball progression, Delap has shown enough promise to indicate that he could be a key player in the final third.
Here's another really nice pick out by Delap, which eventually leads to a goal for Szmodics.pic.twitter.com/FB4R5QoRtB

Areas for Development
While Delap has shown immense potential, there are areas he still needs to develop. His range of finishing is one such area; the sample size is small, and it’s unclear if he can consistently execute a variety of finishes. Additionally, his aerial ability is an unknown factor. Ipswich Town’s playstyle hasn’t given him many opportunities to demonstrate his effectiveness in aerial duels, making this a question mark for now.
As Delap's young, at just 21 years, there's still so much about his general play that's still raw. However, that will be ironed out with experience. A good example of this is Jackson, who's developed well at Chelsea despite early scepticism.
