There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding a number of players at Chelsea right now. The Blues have shown a lot of promise lately, like the win against Barcelona and the draw against Arsenal despite going down to ten men. But on the other hand, they followed those two results up by losing to a completely out-of-form Leeds United.

Many will blame the tinkering with the starting XI. But at the same time, champion teams find ways to win. Chelsea did not against Leeds United. And that is a clear sign that this side is not quite ready for that last step, even though they are capable of competing with the very best in Europe on their day.

So, we could see a few more changes with the squad in the upcoming transfer windows. Chelsea will need to comply with UEFA rules though, having been fined not too long ago. So, if they try to make any significant signings, it will come with departures.

Nicolas Jackson is someone who looks primed for an exit. He joined Bayern Munich for a £14 million loan fee in the summer and they have a £56 million buyout clause as well. But it is believed they are unlikely to take it up. Therefore, there have been many questions about a potential return to Chelsea for the striker. But it looks like that won't be happening.

As reported by Football FanCast, Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel:

"It might be in England, Aston Villa, Bayern, of course. Let’s see what they decide to do for Jackson. There will be a lot of interest. But at the moment, what I can guarantee Aston Villa wanted him last summer.

“That’s why I mentioned Aston Villa. Unai Emery knows the player well from Villarreal. But what I want to tell you is that between Jackson and Chelsea, the story is considered over."

Jackson has a lot of potential to be one of the top strikers in Europe. But it is his finishing and disciplinary record which have let him down time after time.

Also, for some reason, he seems intent on making a move away from Chelsea. Everybody could have predicted that he would have had a tough time getting minutes at Bayern Munich, with them already having Harry Kane. And unsurprisingly, he has been a secondary option at best for the Bavarian giants.
