After spending the last couple of weeks parting with players rather than signing them, it looks like Chelsea have once again turned their attention towards bringing in fresh faces to Stamford Bridge. Quite a few players have been linked with the Blues when it comes to versatile forwards capable of playing on both wings as well as a number 10.

Simons is one of the most highly-regarded talents in world football right now. But then, that has been the case going back to his days at FC Barcelona's La Masia.

Since then, Simons has had his ups and downs. He chose to leave Barcelona to join PSG and it is a move that clearly did not work out for him. When you look at how things have turned out for Lamine Yamal, could he have enjoyed the same trajectory if he had stayed on?

Simons has proven himself at clubs like PSV and RB Leipzig, though. While capable of playing on both wings, he is not a typical touchline winger that fits into Enzo Maresca's system. Instead, it is more likely that he would be deployed in the number 10 role if he arrives. That makes sense considering both Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku are expected to leave this summer.
